ABOUT THE POSTER & T-SHIRT CONTEST
Every year, the poster and T-shirt art for the Fairfax Festival is decided through our annual Poster & T-Shirt Contest. Entries are submitted and voted on by the Festival Committee.
The 2026 Poster
2026 Winning Artist Frank Barnhardt is a Fairfax-based illustrator, product designer and artist.
As an illustrator, he works in three distinct voices: Large-scale textured paintings that carve wave energy onto canvas; Ink and paint illustrations capturing the highlights of Marin; and he brings his unique style to stencil creation where he celebrates themes around local wildlife and environmental responsibility.
Posters and T-Shirts are for sale at the Information Booth by the Main Stage at the corner of Bolinas Road & Elsie Lane

The Fairfax Festival embodies the values that are dear to all Marinites: community, family, social responsibility, sustainability and, of course, a great party.
It kicks off with a traditional Family Film Night in the Ballfield on Friday night. Join us for the parade at 10 AM on Saturday, then enjoy two days of celebrating the good things in life and in Fairfax.
Come hear great local music at three stages, shop for crafts and flea market treasures, enjoy fresh, wholesome food, beer, organic wine tasting, entertain the kids in our expanded children’s area, and ponder social and environmental issues at the Ecofest. Once again we will have US PureWater filtered water stands so you can refill your water containers.
The Fairfax Festival offers something for everyone who attends. The Festival is put on by a volunteer group of your friends and neighbors. We take special pride in being a 100% volunteer group (no outside promoter needed). So come enjoy our hometown event, and be sure to support your local craftspeople, artists, flea marketers, breweries, and food purveyors.
